Asha Sundaram
Asha Sundaram is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Auckland. Prior to this, she was a Senior Lecturer at the School of Economics, University of Cape Town, South Africa. She has an M.Phil in Economics from Oxford University and a PhD from Syracuse University, New York. Her research spans the areas of international trade and development economics. Topics she works on include the impacts of trade liberalization, the role of institutions in determining these impacts and trade and networks.
Her work has been published in top field journals and general-interest journals like the Journal of International Economics and the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, in books published by Oxford University Press and in the research-based policy analysis portal VoxEU. She has consulted for the World Bank and the Peterson Institute of International Economics, both in Washington DC and for the Asian Development Bank in Manila.
